San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 10, 2012
ABC-CLIO, an award-winning publisher of print and electronic library resources, today announced that the World Religions: Belief, Culture, and Controversy database won an SIIA CODiE Award for Best Culture Reference Solution.
The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software and digital content industries, announced ABC-CLIO?s win at the Ed Tech Industry Summit in San Francisco, Calif. An SIIA CODiE Award win is an especially prestigious honor as each award winner was initially reviewed by a field of software industry executives, whose evaluations determined 119 finalists. SIIA members then reviewed these finalists and voted to brilliant 28 CODiE Awards Winners.
The World Religions database is the newest addition to ABC-CLIO?s suite of online solutions. The ABC-CLIO online solutions suite comprises 14 curriculum-aligned databases covering subjects ranging from American history to world geography. Each database integrates three essential components: a comprehensive and topic-specific reference library; a standards-based online textbook; and a deep collection of model commentary that exposes students to a variety of authoritative perspectives, helping them renovate critical thinking skills and enter informed essays.
?It is an honor to be recognized by our peers for this outstanding achievement in culture software,? noted Becky Snyder, ABC-CLIO President. ?This prestigious award highlights our commitment to providing our patrons, teachers, and students with the best possible resources to teach and gather complex and vital subjects like world religions.?
This years winners reflect excellence and thought, noted SIIA Vice President for the Software Division, Rhianna Collier. Im proud to congratulate them on the success of their applications, platforms, and products.
This announcement marks the following award win for the World Religions database this year. Just last month, World Religions was flattered with a Best Culture Software Award (BESSIE). In addition, the entire suite of ABC-CLIO Solutions databases was named a finalist in the 2012 Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) Awards, winners to be announced in June. These awards further solidify ABC-CLIO?s role in providing exceptional educational products for the 21st century.
