Google's Nexus Q is secretly a Magic 8 Ball

12 hrs.

Considering that it's been around since 1950, most of us are familiar with the Magic 8 Ball. It's a simple toy which'll answer "yes" or "no" questions. You can buy one for less than ten bucks.

Alternatively, you could order a?Nexus Q???Google's?shiny new "social streaming device"???for $299, and get your advice from it instead.

You see, it turns out that the Nexus Q has a little easter egg?? a hidden or secret feature?? which can be triggered by tapping the Nexus Q icon in the device's settings?repeatedly. Once you do that, the screen of the tablet or smartphone currently controlling the Nexus Q will display a glowing ball and offer to solve your dilemmas.

Like a real Magic 8 Ball, the Nexus Q???the Magic Q-Ball??? appears to only handle "yes" or "no" questions. Its responses range from a simple "no" or "you betcha" to cheeky claims that it's too tired to deal with your questions right now.
